Project's Phases

The work plan consist of three phases:

Phase I:
Conceptual framework The main tasks of this phase:

  • The "Stages of Change" in Awareness from the TAPESTRY research project as well as the findings from the Tapestry "Common Assessment Framework Guide for Case Study Partners" will be prepared for all partners to make sure to tackle the demonstration campaigns the way the are suggested there.
  • Defining more exactly, what the "personal benefit" approach in non motorised modes of transport is and its relevance for clean urban transport
  • Getting acquainted with the best practise in the field of travel awareness - gained from the already available TAPESTRY Deliverable "the state of the art"
  • Define the demonstration projects more precisely o Demonstration guidelines

Phase II:
Demonstrations Within this phase there will be several campaigns within the demonstration projects:

  • Public Transport as the backbone of urban transport in Gdansk - general awareness campaign against fast rising car use in urban transport
  • Awareness campaign for cycling in Ghent o Awareness campaign for promoting Bike&Ride Facilities in Ghent
  • "Bio Transport" - Campaign to achieve awareness on personal viable options for cycling in Vilnius
  • "Patients opt for movement" - Campaign on personal benefit (focus on health and fitness) for non motorised modes of transport on everyday trips
  • "Keep moving" - Campaign on multiplication and consolidating behaviour for people who already switched to non motorised modes.
  • Promoting the new tramline as an alternative mode of transport to the car and achieving for a positive opt.
  • Campaign on winning pupils for public transport for leisure time trips and using them as multiplier for their parents / relatives etc (special focus on the age of 15/16 which is the age of first motorisation) Campaign for consolidating behaviour in favour of existing car pools and the advanced services in public transport.

Phase III:
Documentation and Dissemination the phase will use several innovative means to document and disseminate the results and conclusions of the project. Some of them are direct spin-offs of the demonstrations.
Planned are:

  • Website, brochure, reports
  • Electronic presentation material o National / regional workshops for decision makers
  • Postcards o Booklet
  • Making use of other networks or websites (e.g. EPOMM, ELTIS) as well as presence on relevant conferences o Any combinations of these This three-phased approach ensures a gradual and systematic building-up of know-how and materials on the TAPESTRY approach. From month 7 on, the documentation and dissemination phase starts to use this and will quickly develop into an effective dissemination process reaching out to the relevant target groups in Europe.
